Have you all heard the birds outside lately? Spring is definitely on its way! I think we all have been feeling a little bit of “cabin fever.” We have a lot going on as school this month, so be sure to check out the “upcoming dates” section of the newsletter!
I visited each classroom the week of parent teacher conferences and shared a lesson on friendship. I was amazed and thrilled to see what deep thinkers our students are! They are also so kind and compassionate! I really have enjoyed getting to know the students at Fairview.
Spring brings school-wide state testing. Kindergarten through third graders participate in the IRI, and students in grades 3-6 take the SBAC. The IRI begins the week we get back from Spring Break. The SBAC testing window begins on March 18th. This is a “pilot” test. We will not receive any information as to how the students performed on the test. It will take a lot of time and brain power to complete the test. Your student’s teacher will let you know the specific dates of each
test. It’s a great idea to make sure that they get enough sleep and eat a hearty breakfast with a lot of protein on the day of the test. The test will be broken up into manageable sections to reduce stress on our students. We are both nervous and excited for the tests.
As always, thank you for all of your support. Parents at Fairview are the best!
